My Top 8 Favourite Places To Dine In Kingston

Saying I love food, would be an understatement. Food is one of the windows to my soul. Eating good food is self-love. So here are my top 8 favourite places to dine in Kingston (Restaurants are ranked by no special order).

1. Saffron Indian Cuisine at the Market Place

This blast of exotic cultural flavours from India is a great addition to Kingston’s Market Place. Their food is amazing. However, one critique is that the menu is too extensive, it is really overwhelming. But the silverling is, with this menu there is literally something for everyone. My personal favourites are the Mango Chicken, Green Thai Curry, Orange Chicken and Garlic Naan Bread. Saffron Indian Cuisine is the definition of value for your money. Price Range: $$

2. Fromage Gourmet Market at the Market Place

Modern European food with a Jamaican flair in an opulent space encapsulates Fromage Gourmet. Located in Kingston’s Market Place, their food is divine. A few of my personal favourites are their Stuffed Crab Chicken Breast served with Sweet Potato Mash, Blueberry Cheesecake and their Shrimp & Waffles. Also, their customer service is 5 star. Can’t complain. Price Range: $$

3. CPJ Market Deli on Lady Musgrave Road

I love CPJ Deli! I can not say it enough. CPJ Deli has an inviting farmhouse vibe which translates into a warm and relaxing space. Located at 71 Lady Musgrave Road, their food and wine selection are fun and versatile. It is a place that gives you the option to either grab a quick bite or to dine in. My personal favourite is their Shrimp Alfredo Pasta. Price Range: $

4. Tea Tree Creperie at 80 LMR

Let your creative juices flow. Tea Tree Creperie is my favourite restaurant to satisfy my sweet tooth. It has an extroverted energy that encourages you to have fun with food and to get involved creatively by building your own crepes. My personal favourites are their Strawberry & Cream crepes and their Strawberry Cheesecake crepes. Price Range: $

5. Gloria’s Seafood Restaurant on the Water Front Down Town

If you want a taste of the ocean, Gloria Seafood Restaurant is the place for you. They offer a wide array of fish dishes and a great views of the Kingston waterfront. The major downside is the WAIT TIME for food. It is excruciating, but when the food arrives, it will be worth the wait. My personal favourites are their Curry Fish, Escovitch Fish, Fish Tea (sometimes), their Festivals and Steam Bammy. Price Range: $$

6. 100 Kingston on 100 Hope Road

On a Friday night, the only place to be is at a 100 Hope Road. 100 has grown tremendously since they first dined in 2016. Initialy I hated 100 because of the poor costumer service and food, their only saving grace for me was their aesthetic. However, last year I gave them another shot and I fell love. My personal favourites are their Slow-Cooked 100 BBQ Chicken and their Blueberry Cheesecake. Shout out to their Bar staff, because they will keep a smile on your face and your order will come in a timely fashion. Price Range: $$

7. Triple Century in New Kingston

Triple Century is where I go for Jamaican comfort food. They have friendly staff and the food is always on time. My only critique is that the restaurant could use a bit of a facelift. My personal favourites are their Oxtail with Rice & Peas or Mash Potatoes, their Juicy Jerk Chicken andbest of all their tasty Chicken Wings. Price Range: $

8. Noodles East Japanese at the Market Place

Thank you to my friend Melissa, who introduced me to this restaurant. East Jap offers quite the Japanese experience. It forced me to come out of my comfort zone and try bold new flavours and textures. Their sushi and array of fresh fish are fabulous. My only two critiques are the wait time and the customer service of the servers. While it is that the servers are polite, I sometimes feel neglected because she disappears when I need her the most, such as for the bill or if I’d like to order something else. Besides that, my personal favourites are their Baby Octopus, Spicy California Roll, Green Tea Ice-Cream and most importantly, their Stamina Daddy Eel Roll. Trust me, it’s really good! Price Range: $$
